1. My favorite Bible verse? I couldn’t possibly say – there are tons of them. I could go on and on. Some that come to mind immediately are: Heb 3:13, John 5:24, Galatians 2:20, I Cor. 15:58, Psalm 119 the whole chapter actually, Heb 4:12, II Tim. 4:1-2. Different passages take on greater significance at some times in your life. Just yesterday when I received an email from my son in very significant danger in harm’s way in Iraq, Psalm 121 took on very special meaning for me as I prayed it for him and his fellow Marines.

2. What Books am I reading now? Actually I am always actively reading at least 5-7 books at any given time. I am reading a book called “On Combat” about the psychological effects of war on soldiers. I am reading Joel Rosenberg’s new novel called, “Dead Heat.” I am reading (actually rereading) “Simple Church.” I am reading several books on hermeneutics, the topic of my dissertation. I am also reading my Biblioltheca Sacra journals – a four-part series on preaching the book of Proverbs. I also have a Weight Watchers Book that I am reading on myths about weight loss. In addition I am reading a book on types of pistols, revolvers and other handguns. Pretty diverse huh?

3. My Favorite TV show? Probably Fox News and The Dog Whisperer. Also, I loved the 24 Series when it was on. Sandie and I enjoyed watching LOST (we bought the DVD set). We also watch CSI some.

4. Pets? We have a very sensitive Golden Retriever named Lady Ann. She is a sweet dog but ultra sensitive.

5. Favorite Restaurant? Again, diversity. I like Ruby Tuesday’s, Paradiso, and I like HAMBURGERS. I know Olive Garden will be one of my favorites.

6. Like best about my Job? I love the people and the opportunity to encourage and counsel and help people move toward God and understand His Word. I love the fact that I get to study the Word of God as part of my job. I love working in yoke with our staff, pastors, ministry staff, support staff, and volunteers. I love to tell people about the Lord and His love for them.

7. Interview a Bible Character? I had a whole list of characters in answer to this question. But I deleted it all. Now my answer is, I have the Bible. It is actually the Holy Spirit’s “interview” with all the people of the Bible.

1. What is your favorite Bible verse? You really think I can pick just one verse??!! Of course, I LOVE the Psalms- but my favorite chapter is Psalm 139. It’s a great one to commit to memory. It’s all about a God who created us and knows and loves us so intimately…a God who will never abandon us. Psalm 139: O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men! They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name. Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

2. What book are you currently reading? I love to have a good fiction and nonfiction book going at the same time. My latest fiction is ‘The Sunset”- which is the latest Karen Kingsbury novel. I’ve read most of her books. "God As He Longs for You to See Him" by Chip Ingram and "Keys to Becoming an Effective Worship Leader" by Tom Kraeuter

3. What is your favorite TV show? I love anything on Home and Garden channel, but my other favorites are ‘Monk’ (love it—it makes me laugh!) and ‘Extreme Makeover, Home Edition’. We love to watch that one as a family.

4. Do you have any pets? If yes what is its name? We have a cat named Leonardo DeCatrio, (a small 16 lb. Ragdoll breed). We got him in 1998 when the Titanic movie, staring Leonardo DeCaprio, came out. We are also in the process of adopting two fish, (from Nana and Papa’s pond),….they have yet to be named. If Andrea had her way we would have a zoo at our house.

5. What is your favorite restaurant? I love anything Italian.

6. What do you like best about your job? There are many things I love about my job, but I think my favorite is just worshiping together as a church body on Sunday Morning along-side the amazing people God has brought into our worship ministry. We have a great time!

7. If you could interview any Bible Character who would it be? Wow, another hard question! I think it would have to be David. He was someone who started out as a shepherd boy, spent time pouring his heart out to God as he watched over his sheep. Then God called him to be a great ruler of Israel. David had such a heart and passion for his God and he accomplished great things yet he went through hardships and messed up many times. He always stayed connected with God no matter what and was always honest and open before God as he poured out his heart. I’d love to hear him sing his psalms and just spend some time worshiping with him…guess I’ll have to wait until the day I am called home to heaven!
